Overview
Users can use snap tools to streamline node placement and make more accurate models.
Snap to…
Toggling snaps allows users to dictate what Podium decides to snap to.
Individual Snaps
To enable individual snap tools, users have to select their desired snap found on the bottom left magnet icon

1. Snap to vertex
Users can snap to any vertex of the site. For example, if you wish to snap to a point of the site, you can activate this tool to help you do so.
2. Snap to edge
Users can use this function to snap to the cadastre layer when defining a site. They can also snap a building to the site boundary and planning envelope of the site
3. Snap to midpoint
Users can find the midpoint of an edge easily by enabling this snapping function
4. Snap to parallel line
Users can easily align a building parallel to an edge of the site by using this tool. Guidelines will appear on the edge parallel to the building

5. Snap to perpendicular line
Users can use this function to align a building perpendicular to the edge of a site. Guidelines will appear on the edge perpendicular to the building
6. Snap to angle
This function can be used to snap building angles pre-defined angles
7. Snap to rounded distances
Users can snap to pre-defined lengths when drawing the site or editing a building
Snapping Mode
The snapping mode button allows users to toggle on/off all snaps quickly.

Snap Settings
Snap Settings allow users to further manipulate Podium snapping by making guidelines and by toggling orthographic drawing mode.

Guidelines
Guidelines act as markers for use as guides for object placement and snapping.
Making a New Guideline
Users can make a guideline by clicking the New Guideline button and setting points.
- Set the first point by clicking anywhere in the design space.
- Set the second point by clicking again.
- Click again to confirm the angle, OR click and hold to adjust the second point’s placement.
Making Guidelines Visible
Users can toggle Guidelines on to make them visible in the scenario view.
Modifying Guidelines
The Modify Guidelines button will appear after guidelines have been placed.
To modify guidelines, click the Modify Guidelines button, and hover over an already placed guideline.
- Move a guideline by clicking and dragging it.
- Rotate a guideline by clicking and dragging along the rotate circle.
- Click the offset button to translate the line a measured distance perpendicular to the line’s current orientation.

Orthographic Drawing
Toggling Orthographic drawing mode makes lines a user draws automatically snap at 90* angles if close enough without having to hold shift.
