Driveways

Overview

The driveway tool in Podium works like a line-drawing tool — you click to set points along a path and Podium generates the road geometry for you. Roads can be straight or have multiple segments with bends, and you can connect roads to each other to form intersections that clean up automatically at the join points. Before you start drawing, you can configure what type of road you are drawing, how wide it is, and what the inner turning radius should be at corners. These settings can also be adjusted after a road is placed.

Drawing a Driveway

Driveways are drawn as a series of connected segments, the same way you would draw a polyline. Each click places a node, and Podium renders the road width along the full path.

How to Draw a Driveway

  1. Open the Driveway tool from the middle toolbar.
  1. Click to place your first point at the start of the road.
  1. Continue clicking to add further points along the road path. Each segment between two points forms a section of the road.
  1. Enter or Double-click to finish the line.
  1. Configure your road settings — path type, width, and turning radius and click Solve
