Version 1.2.12
Version 1.2.12 (12/02/2025)
New Features
Residential Building Features
- Residential Tower Metrics: You can now add one or more residential towers on the site, podium, or basement, and the platform will automatically generate floor areas and calculate metric data for them, providing immediate insights into your design.
- Define Hammerhead Configurations on Spine: When designing residential blocks, you can now define hammerhead configurations on spine nodes. This allows for the creation of hammerhead unit designs along your residential floorplate, offering more architectural flexibility.
Industrial Building Features
- Void Space Generation in Core Zone: The platform now intelligently creates void spaces behind extra space in core zones. This includes automatically generating structural beams at the start and end of the void, ensuring a robust and accurate structural wireframe.
- Full Width Loading Bay Criteria: You can now toggle the dedicated parking width in the Right-Hand Panel based on your unit sizes. This feature helps maximise the area allocated for unit space within industrial designs.
- Define Loading Bay Zone Depth in Engineering Configuration: The solver can now read user-defined criteria from the Engineering Configuration to determine the required depth of the loading bay zone. This allows for precise control over loading bay dimensions based on your specific needs (e.g., number of heavy vehicle or car lots).
- Improved Core Element Positioning: When you define unit depth and unit bay width in Site Space, the solver now allocates space for core elements (lifts, staircases, common/accessible toilets, and MEP risers) more effectively. It uses the appropriate spatial framework to generate core positioning based on unit width, allowing for both compact and large layouts.
- Feasibility Compliance Check for Road Width: Podium now includes compliance checks for road width, specifically ensuring adequate turning space for emergency vehicles like fire engines. It differentiates between accessways and access roads, and accounts for bi-directional access, helping you meet local regulations.
- Configurable Staircase to User Criteria: When you specify or edit the floor-to-floor height of an industrial building in Site Space, it will now adjust in default increments based on the Engineering Configuration. You can also input custom floor-to-floor heights, overriding defaults to ensure compliance with stair solver requirements.
Structural Features
- Apply Post-Tensioned (PT) Beams for Ramps: You can now specify structural floor systems with post-tensioned concrete beams for ramps. This allows for their consideration as a potential structural solution, enabling material outcome evaluation and design verification by a structural engineer.
- Select Space and View Properties: You can now select individual spaces within the 3D user interface and view their associated properties in the Right-Hand Panel. This helps you confirm the spatial and engineering requirements for each space.
- API for Common Space Types & Properties: A new API allows for setting up common structural and MEP space types and properties. This enables applying specific engineering design parameters to different spaces based on architectural usage, leading to more detailed analysis.
- Electrical System Demand Solving: The platform can now apply specific electrical design parameters to different spaces based on architectural usage, enabling more detailed electrical design analysis for spaces and the overall building.
- Mechanical System Demand Solving: Similar to electrical systems, specific mechanical design parameters can now be applied to different spaces based on architectural usage, providing a more detailed analysis of the mechanical design for the spaces and building.
- Automatic Access Door/Portal for Toilet Blocks: When a common toilet block is solved, it will now automatically include an access door, ensuring valid geometry.
Supplier Features
- Consistent Supplier Naming: Supplier users can now control their company's name within Podium, ensuring consistency across all areas of the platform (Tenancy Security, Company Profile, Product Catalogue, etc.) without needing support team intervention.
- View Switchgear Equipment Schedule: Designers can now view the switchgear equipment schedule in the schedule tab, allowing for validation of information and ensuring design alignment with project requirements.
- Rendered Switchgear Geometry and Resized Rooms: When a suitable switchgear is selected in Building Space, its geometry is now rendered, and the HV Switchroom reserved space automatically resizes. This provides clear visualisation of placement and ensures adequate space for integration.
- Solve for Suitable Switchgear Product: The switchgear configuration and product selection solvers now run automatically upon entering Building Space, selecting the most suitable switchgear product based on design criteria. This helps determine if an HV switchroom is needed and allocates space efficiently.
- Input User Switchgear Requirements in Engineering Configuration: You can now add criteria for switchgear products in the Engineering Configuration, such as preferred suppliers, type, rated voltage, maximum length, and number of bus coupler or reserved panels. This prioritises these preferences during the solving process.
- View Generator Equipment Schedule: Designers can now view the Generator equipment schedule in the schedule tab, enabling validation of information and ensuring design alignment with project requirements. A "View in 3D" button is also available within the schedule for quick visual reference.
- Get Generator Properties in Building Space: When you select a generator product in Building Space, you can now see its related configuration, specifications, and supplier information. This provides accurate data for informed project decisions.
- Solve for Suitable Generator Product: Upon entering Building Space, the generator configuration and product selection solvers run to select the most suitable generator product based on design criteria. This helps ensure optimal emergency backup power and efficient space allocation.
Site Features
- First-Time User Experience Pop-up: A new generic component has been implemented for first-time user pop-up messages. This provides helpful notifications to guide new users through platform interactions, making it easier to get started.
- View Generic Building Metrics: Architectural designers can now select and review generic buildings on their site and view their metrics, including total height and total area, providing quick insights.
- Password Reset for Forgotten Credentials: Users who forget their login password can now easily reset it to regain access to Podium.
Bug Fixes
This release includes important bug fixes to improve the stability, accuracy, and usability of the Podium platform.
Residential Building Features
