Version 1.2.35

Version 1.2.35 (8 Apr 2026)

New Features

We're excited to announce a range of new features and enhancements across the Podium platform. This release introduces powerful visualisation tools, greater control over site and building design, and improved organisational capabilities to streamline your workflow.

Site Features

  • Elevation Profile: Visualise site topography with our new Elevation Profile tool. By drawing a line across any part of your site, you can now generate an interactive cross-section, providing instant insights into terrain levels and gradients for roads, building pads, and landscape features.
  • GIS Data Management: Enhance your site analysis with greater control over geographic information. You can now upload your own custom GIS datasets in GeoJSON format directly within the Site or Scenario space. We've also added the ability to remove previously uploaded datasets, ensuring your projects remain clean and up-to-date.
  • Topography Metrics: Gain deeper insights into your site's terrain with the introduction of new topography metrics, enabling more informed early-stage design decisions.

Visualisation and Reporting

  • Fly-Through Animations: Create compelling project presentations with the new fly-through animation feature. Define a camera path with multiple waypoints, set the animation speed, and export a web-compatible video file to share your design vision with stakeholders.
  • Enhanced Screenshot Tools: Improve collaboration and design reviews with new annotation tools for screenshots. You can now add freehand drawings, arrows, and text directly onto your screenshots to highlight key details before saving.
  • Scenario PDF Reports: Effortlessly generate comprehensive PDF reports for your design scenarios, providing a clear and professional summary of your project for offline review and distribution.

Residential Building Features

  • Corridor Width Compliance: Ensure your residential tower designs meet regulatory requirements more easily. You can now set a minimum corridor width, and the platform will provide compliance feedback during the design process.

Industrial Building Features

  • New Industrial Building Templates: Accelerate your industrial project setup with new, pre-configured building templates designed for specific industrial use cases.
  • Enhanced Electrical Cluster Solving: We have improved the solving logic for electrical cluster arrangements, enabling more efficient and accurate layouts for industrial facilities.
  • Data Centre Design and Metrics: We have made significant updates to our data centre design capabilities. This includes new data centre-specific metrics on the targets page, and an improved layout logic for data halls that now uses adjacency rules for more realistic configurations.
  • Resizable Office Spaces: Gain more flexibility in your industrial building layouts by defining office areas as separate, resizable sections within the overall floorplate.

Structural Features

  • Greater Control Over Beam Selection: Refine your structural design with more precision. New control points for beam width have been added, allowing for more specific product selection and analysis.

General Improvements

  • Lock Scenarios: Protect your finalised designs from accidental changes. A new feature allows you to lock a scenario, preventing any further adjustments to the model once a design stage is complete.
  • Improved Template Organisation: Managing your templates is now simpler and more efficient. We've revamped the organisation flows in the Site Space, allowing you to create presets and better manage your library of unit templates.
  • Flexible Space Definition: Achieve more optimised floorplate layouts. You can now designate specific areas as 'flex spaces', giving the solver greater ability to adjust and fit these spaces intelligently.
  • Enhanced Snapping Controls: Experience a smoother design process with improvements to our snapping tools. You can now fully disable or enable snapping as needed, and we've renamed snapping options for greater clarity. A new 'Fit to Window' button in the Template Editor also helps you quickly centre your view.
  • Tagging: Improve project and template management by adding custom tags or labels. This allows for easier filtering and organisation of your project data, unit templates, and building layout templates.
  • Unit Library Management: Streamline your workflow by adding templates from the central Unit Library directly to your projects or your entire organisation's library.

Bug Fixes

This release also includes numerous bug fixes and stability improvements to enhance your experience with Podium. We've focused on improving performance, correcting calculation errors, and refining the user interface across the platform.

Site Features

  • Topography and Terrain Editor Stability: We have resolved several issues that caused instability when working with topography, including errors that occurred when enabling heatmaps or elevation views in the Terrain Editor.
  • Building Pad Placement: Corrected an issue where building pads were placed incorrectly on sites with high elevation, ensuring they are now positioned at the correct datum.
  • Site Division Validation: You can now save a site with multiple divisions without being required to define a height for every division, resolving a previous validation error.
  • Landscape Line Drawing: Fixed a crash that occurred when drawing straight, co-linear landscape lines, improving the stability of landscape design tools.
  • Driveway Solver and UI: Resolved a solver error that occurred when cloning a data centre after a driveway was added. We also fixed a UI issue where the inner turning radius was incorrectly editable for parallel driveway segments.
  • UI Fixes: Addressed minor user interface issues, including a persistent outline remaining on screen after closing the site definition panel, and the back button and toolbars not restoring correctly when exiting the terrain editor.
  • Planning Envelope Visibility: The visibility toggle for the planning envelope now works correctly, allowing you to easily show or hide the massing boundary.

Residential Building Features

  • Design Assistant Calculations: Resolved an issue where the Design Assistant could display a mass efficiency of over 100% for residential buildings.
  • Corridor Options: The Design Assistant now correctly generates and displays corridor options for residential floor types.
  • Hammerhead UI: The angle between a hammerhead segment and the building spine is now correctly displayed in the user interface. We also fixed an issue that allowed hammerhead configurations to be edited after the external corridor was disabled.
  • Area Metrics: Corrected the area metrics display for residential buildings, ensuring that 'Total Net Lettable Area' only appears at the tower level, not at the individual storey level.
  • Schedule Data: Fixed an issue where empty entries for walls were appearing in the Bill of Materials for structures in the schedule table.

Industrial Building Features

  • Data Centre Performance: Addressed performance issues that caused long runtimes and occasional crashes when solving complex data centre models.
  • Data Centre Modelling and UI: Fixed several bugs related to data centre design, including a rendering issue when rotating a detached chiller plant, chiller plants being incorrectly visible on all storeys, overlaps between data halls and corridors, and a solver error when adding a basement.
  • Data Centre Editor Fixes: Office spaces and criteria now appear correctly in the building layout editor, templates no longer drop prematurely when dragged, and the previously identical icons for 'Edit' and 'Navigate to Building Layout Editor' have now been differentiated.
  • Schedule and Comparison Metrics: Data centre and equipment yard metrics will now correctly appear in the exported Area Schedule. Additionally, the floor-to-floor height for data centres is now correctly populated in the scenario comparison page.
  • Substation Voltage: Corrected the default voltage rating for substations in the Generic SDG model to its intended value.

Structural Features

  • Profile Section Upgrades: Resolved an issue that caused structural profile sections to be upgraded incorrectly during the solving process.

General Fixes

  • Platform Stability and UI: General stability has been improved by fixing an issue where buildings could sink into podiums in certain edge cases. A screen flickering issue that sometimes occurred when switching to the building layout editor has also been resolved.
  • Unit Editor: Fixed a bug that prevented the editing of spaces that had been previously combined in the Unit Editor.
  • Project Sharing: Corrected an issue where pasting a user's name into the sharing dialogue would incorrectly assign them 'guest' permissions by default.
  • Third-Party Integration: Addressed an intermittent syncing issue with Forma that could result in extra, unintended buildings appearing after a sync.
  • Performance: Backend data handling has been optimised to improve overall platform responsiveness.
