Version 1.2.16

Version 1.2.16 (22/05/2025)

New Features

Residential Building Features

  • Extended Generic Building Height Limit: The maximum height limit for generic buildings has been increased from 10 to 65 floors, aligning with residential building limits and offering greater design flexibility.
  • Regulatory-Aligned Travel Distance Configuration: You can now specify 1-way and 2-way travel distances in the Engineering Configuration, ensuring that your residential tower designs better comply with regional regulatory requirements.
  • Centralised Lift Core Placement for Efficient Towers: For residential towers with shorter spines (less than twice the 1-way travel distance) and requiring at least one stair, the lift configuration will now automatically place in the centre of the spine. This leads to more efficient residential tower designs.
  • Standardised Bedroom Count and Unit Mix Setup: The platform now consistently displays the number of bedrooms when setting up the Unit Mix in the Criteria panel for Residential buildings. This provides clearer and more accurate information, moving away from a "rooms" convention to a "bedrooms" count.
  • Void Zones for Practical Unit Placement: When designing residential towers with concave segments, the solver will now automatically void zones immediately after initial unit placements. This prevents impractical unit placements that lack outward views.
  • Automated Branched Lift Configuration: For residential buildings over 100m designed with a branched polyline spine, the lift core configuration will automatically adjust and place itself, enabling quicker generation of feasible building designs.
  • User-Defined Unit Entrances: You can now specify a unit entrance location within the Spatial Editor, allowing for future calculations based on this defined point.
  • Editable Residential Branched Polylines: You can now edit the spine of residential buildings with branched polylines in the same way as industrial buildings. This means you can split the spine into multiple segments and determine the offset of each segment.
  • Optimised Corridor Lengths: Corridors in residential buildings will now automatically shorten to align with placement guidelines, leading to more efficient floorplate designs.
  • External Corridor Creation: Within the Spatial Editor, you can now create external corridors to define connections between a unit entrance and the main tower corridor, even when the entrance doesn't directly intersect the unit boundary.

Industrial Building Features

  • Customisable Parking Ratios: In Site Space, you can now specify vehicular type-specific parking ratios (e.g., lots per square metre for cars and motorcycles). The system will use these ratios to estimate the number of parking lots from the total constructed parking area.

Structural Features

  • Enhanced Ramp Wireframe Visualisation: The ramp structure now generates with correct alignment, offsets, and quadrant information in the wireframe. This provides a more realistic and coordinated representation of structural framing.
  • Improved Beam Solver Stability: Addressed an issue causing "BeamSolverTriggerMethods" errors when updating floor-to-floor height and unit width simultaneously in industrial modular buildings, leading to more stable solving.
  • Accurate Buildability Score Report Naming: The buildability score report for industrial buildings is now correctly named "Buildability Score (Structure)", providing clearer identification.
  • Correct Staircase Configuration IDs: The configuration ID for staircase elements in modular industrial buildings now correctly aligns with the product variant ID.
  • Improved Wall Solver Stability: Resolved intermittent wall solver errors that prevented L1 resolution for models using structural system type 7, ensuring more reliable solving.
  • Accurate Ramp Column Offsets: Fixed a minor bug with node quadrants at ramps, ensuring correct column offsets in the spatial wireframe.

Supplier Features

  • Comprehensive Transformer Product Management: Supplier users can now download, populate, and import a "Transformer" product template, allowing for effective analysis and recommendations of their transformer products based on user requirements. This includes validation status, import status, and the ability to create product profiles.

Site Features

  • IPMS-Aligned Area Calculation Mapping: Podium elements can now be mapped to component types for area calculations, aligning with industry standards for consistent result generation. This ensures accurate calculation of unit carpet area, unit floor area, and other spatial elements.
  • Improved Site Boundary Movement: Moving the site boundary has been enhanced, allowing for smoother dragging, and enabling zooming with the scroll wheel during the move operation for more precise placement.
  • Buildable Zone Definition: Architectural designers can now define "buildable zones" in Site Space to reserve areas where solvers should or should not place elements. This provides greater control over site layout and development.
  • Validated Project Boundary Definition: When defining the project boundary, Podium now includes validation systems to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Post-Site Definition Project Boundary Creation: You can now define the project boundary after defining the site, creating a clear border that contains context for accurate site topography rendering within allowable constraints.

Platform Enhancements

There has been a big change in how workflows are handled helping users better manage and visualise their project plans.
  • Workflow Library Access: Users can now access a library of available workflows and choose which one to run for their project, offering greater flexibility in project management.
  • Task Dependencies in Workflows: A new feature enables the creation of dependencies between tasks in workflows, preventing end users from performing actions out of sequence.
  • Site Boundary Survey RFP Document Automation: An automation flow for generating Site Boundary Survey RFP (Request for Proposal) documents has been integrated into a workflow, allowing project managers to monitor its completion.
  • Workflow Swapping Capability: You can now select and swap to a different workflow for an existing project. This allows you to adapt to new tasks or updated workflow versions without creating a new project.
  • Configurable Automation Visibility: Automations can now be made visible only to specific organisations and roles, providing greater control over access and preventing unintended use.
  • External Map Integration: You can now launch the site location in Google Maps directly from Podium, providing convenient access to supplementary information.
  • Clearly Visible Required Fields in Workflows: Workflow forms now clearly indicate which input fields are required, helping users complete all necessary information immediately and avoid errors.
  • Movable Workflow Modals: Workflow modals can now be moved and allow interaction with the background, enabling users to identify and select elements in the 3D model while completing workflow actions.
  • Flexible URL Navigation in Automations: A new automation node allows for creating flows that navigate users to any webpage, either within the platform or externally, providing greater flexibility in workflow design.
  • Automated Approval Processes: A new automation process for approvals has been introduced, allowing documents to be directed to approvers for validation, streamlining approval workflows.
  • Email Sending Automation: The platform now supports sending emails via automations, enabling quick document sharing.

Bug Fixes

This release includes important bug fixes to improve the stability, accuracy, and usability of the Podium platform.
