New Features
Residential Building Features
- Enhanced Staircase Sizing:Â You can now incorporate a wider range of staircase sizes into your designs, providing more flexibility for architectural layouts.
- Comprehensive Residential Tower Metrics:Â Gain deeper insights into your residential tower designs with new, accurate metrics, including Total Height, Unit Count, Total Floor Area, Carpet Area, Common Area, Balcony Area, and Amenity Area. These additions enable more trustworthy design evaluations.
- Customisable Residential Ground Floor Functions:Â Define specific functions for individual ground floorplates in your residential towers. This allows for greater alignment with your design vision and accurate calculation of area distribution across your site.
- Automated Refuge Floor Generation:Â For residential buildings exceeding a specified height, Podium will now automatically generate a refuge floor, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
- Accelerated Unit Variant Creation:Â When editing a parent unit in the Spatial Editor, the system will now automatically generate all associated roof, void, typical, and mirrored versions. This significantly speeds up the design iteration process.
- Precise Unit Edge Criteria:Â After a placement guideline is created, you can now specify exact edge conditions, ensuring units are placed and oriented precisely within your designs.
Industrial Building Features
- Configurable Zone Allocation Priority:Â For industrial ground floor designs, you can now define the allocation priority between Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) zones. This allows you to strategically reserve space when there are capacity constraints.
- Optimised Industrial Egress Generation:Â External egress will no longer be generated unnecessarily when an industrial unit's depth falls below a specific threshold, ensuring efficient building design that still meets travel distance requirements.
- Enhanced Ramp Sizing Logic:Â The ramp sizing calculations for industrial buildings have been significantly improved, incorporating advanced logic based on building depth, driveway width, turning radius, and gradients, leading to more accurate and robust ramp designs.
Structural Features
- Configurable Distribution Element Clearances:Â You can now view and edit the minimum clearances required for each distribution element. This ensures sufficient access for installation and maintenance within your building designs.
- Visualisation of Distribution Element Routing:Â It is now possible to generate and visualise distribution elements within the 3D environment, providing a clearer understanding of their routes and helping to confirm their validity.
Supplier Features
- Updated Supplier Catalogue:Â The supplier catalogue has been refreshed and categorised, ensuring you have access to the latest and most relevant information for structural, MEPF, and vertical transport suppliers.
- Improved Products Criteria Integration:Â The system now uses an updated approach for managing product criteria, enhancing the dynamic retrieval of product data and providing a more robust foundation for future catalogue expansions.
Site Features
- Expanded Zone Editing Capabilities:Â You now have greater control over zones in the Site Space, with added functionalities to move (edges and nodes), rotate, delete, offset (inward/outward), split, and scale zones, allowing for more precise placement on your site.
- Comprehensive Site Object Metrics:Â Metrics for Generic Buildings, Podiums, and Basements are now automatically calculated in the Site Space, providing clear insights into the composition of your overall site design.
- Aggregated Site Area Metrics:Â When evaluating designs in the Site Space, area metrics for towers are now aggregated without adjustments, enabling a more precise assessment of design performance across your entire site.
- Separate Site Entrance and Exit Points:Â You can now define distinct entrance and exit points for your site. The system will automatically generate connection roads between these points and the building's driveway, streamlining site access planning.
Platform Enhancements
- Improved Schedules Accessibility:Â The entry point for accessing schedules within the Building View has been improved, making this important feature easier to find and utilise.
- Streamlined Automation Publishing:Â The process for publishing automations and workflows has been enhanced, providing a more controlled and efficient release mechanism.
Bug Fixes
This release includes important bug fixes to improve the stability, accuracy, and usability of the Podium platform.
Residential Building Features

- Reliable Unit Solving:Â Fixed an issue preventing newly created residential unit templates from solving correctly.
- Prevented Duplicate Staircases:Â Corrected a bug that was leading to residential buildings being generated with two staircases side-by-side or overlapping with units.
- MSCP Building Section Generation:Â Resolved an issue preventing Multi-Storey Car Park (MSCP) building sections from generating correctly.
- Consistent Building Name Updates:Â Fixed a bug where updated residential building names were not consistently reflected in the metrics panel.
- Accurate Area Metrics Display:Â Common Area, Balcony Area, and Amenity Area values are now correctly displayed at storey, building, and site levels for residential buildings.
- Correct Building Height Updates:Â Changes to individual storey floor-to-floor heights now correctly update the overall building height.
- Accurate Roof Space Function:Â The space function for roof elements in residential buildings is now correctly defined as "Residential Roof".
- Unit Template Validation:Â The system now correctly requires a corridor edge or unit entrance to be defined when creating a new unit template.
- Mirrored Adjacent Edges:Â When mirroring a unit template, adjacent edges are now correctly mirrored, maintaining design integrity.
