Version 1.2.38
Version 1.2.38 (26 May 2026)
New Features
We're excited to announce a range of powerful new features and enhancements to the Podium platform. This update focuses on improving design flexibility, streamlining workflows, and providing clearer insights into your projects.
General Platform Enhancements
- Annotate 2D Views: Enhance your reports and presentations by adding text annotations and dimensions directly onto your 2D design views, making it easier to communicate key information.
- AI Render Tools Combined: We've combined the 'Enlarge' and 'Pen Mode' tools in the AI renderer, creating a more streamlined and intuitive workflow for refining your design visualisations.
- Custom Version Naming: Improve your project organisation with the ability to add custom names and descriptions to each design version. This makes it simpler to track changes, compare options, and revert to specific milestones.
- Restore Previous Versions: You can now explore design iterations with confidence. Our new restore feature allows you to easily revert a scenario to any of its previously saved versions, safeguarding your work.
- Greater Design Flexibility: The Advanced Generic Building tool has been upgraded with expanded sub-functions, providing you with more granular control and flexibility to create complex and customised building forms.
- Improved Core Engine: We have implemented a significant upgrade to our core calculation engine. This behind-the-scenes improvement enhances performance and lays the foundation for more powerful and sophisticated analysis tools in future updates.
- More Accurate Void Modelling: Voids and atriums are now defined more accurately within floor plates, ensuring greater precision in your area calculations and building models.
- Simplified User Interface: To create a more focused design experience, we have streamlined the main user interface by refining access to advanced customisation and automation features.
Site Features
- Geolocated DXF Imports: You can now import site boundaries from DXF files using the WGS84 global coordinate system, ensuring your project is accurately positioned in its real-world location from the start.
Industrial Building Features
- Streamlined Data Centre Templates: The template library has been updated to focus on our more advanced modular data centre options, simplifying the selection process for new projects.
- Higher Rack Density: Maximise your facility's efficiency by configuring higher server rack densities, allowing you to achieve greater capacity within your data centre designs.
Structural Features
- Automated Column and Beam Checks: To improve structural integrity and prevent modelling errors, the platform now automatically enforces dimensional compatibility between columns and beams at their connection points.
Bug Fixes
This release also includes numerous bug fixes and stability improvements across the platform. Our focus has been on enhancing calculation accuracy, resolving rendering issues, and improving the overall reliability of the user experience.
General Platform Fixes
- Forma Extension Stability: Resolved an intermittent error that occurred when launching Podium from the Forma extension, ensuring a more reliable connection between the two platforms.
- Element Deletion: Fixed an issue that could prevent elements added from the toolbar from being deleted correctly.
- Area Schedules in Duplicated Scenarios: Project metrics now populate correctly in the area schedule when a scenario is duplicated, ensuring data consistency across your design options.
- Improved Visualisation: Addressed several minor rendering issues to provide a more stable and visually accurate design environment.
Site Features
- Podium and Basement Stability: Corrected an issue that could cause podium or basement blocks to collapse into a single point on the site plan.
- Topography and Site Boundary Display: The site boundary now projects correctly onto the terrain when topography is enabled, providing a more accurate 3D site representation.
- Building Pad Visualisation: Building pads are now displayed with a default colour even when no specific elevation is set, improving clarity in the early stages of site planning.
- Parking Generation: Parking spaces now regenerate correctly without overlapping when the dimensions of an adjacent building are modified.
- Surface Generation for Amenities: Surfaces designated as 'Amenity' or 'Undefined' will now generate and render correctly.
- Heavy Vehicle Parking Metrics: The total count for heavy vehicle (HV) parking spaces is now correctly included in the site-level parking metrics.
Residential Building Features
- Building Placement: Fixed a bug that caused residential buildings to float above the ground when positioned close to an adjacent building.
- Tower Stacking: Residential towers will no longer stack on top of each other unexpectedly, allowing for more precise control over site layouts.
- Unit Template Updates: Resolved an issue that prevented unit templates from updating correctly, ensuring custom unit designs can be saved and modified reliably.
- Area Calculation Accuracy: Addressed a calculation error to ensure the reported area for residential spaces is accurate.
- Lift Solver Accuracy: The lift solver calculation has been refined to provide a more accurate analysis of building population and lift requirements.
- Corridor Options in Design Assistant: Fixed an intermittent issue where corridor options were unavailable when designing a generic building for residential use.
- Unit Editor Display: Corrected a display issue in the Unit Editor where units would sometimes fail to render. All unit geometry now appears correctly across all views.
- Improved Calculation Stability: Resolved an underlying data aggregation issue to improve the stability and accuracy of calculations for residential buildings.
Industrial Building Features
- Mechanical Storey Generation: Mechanical storeys are no longer added unnecessarily to designs that use air-cooled chillers, ensuring more accurate building massing.
- Data Centre Design Integrity: Essential components like cooling and chiller plants can no longer be accidentally deleted from data centre templates.
- Data Centre Template Consistency: Removed the ability to add residential space types within data centre templates to prevent incorrect design configurations.
- Basements in Modular Data Centres: Resolved solver errors that could occur when adding a basement to a modular data centre design.
- Chiller Placement: Chiller units are now placed correctly within modular data centre designs, even when the components are rotated.
- Component Alignment: The alignment between a data centre's bounding box and its associated chiller plants is now correctly maintained when building dimensions are updated.
- Data Centre Metrics: Corrected a calculation that was causing inaccurate Net Lettable Area (NLA) and efficiency metrics for data centre designs.
