Version 1.2.15

Version 1.2.15 (30/04/2025)

New Features

Residential Building Features

  • Flexible Spine Segment Angles: You can now configure residential building spine segments to have angles as sharp as 60 degrees between adjacent segments, enabling a wider variety of design outcomes.
  • Clear Visualisation of Non-Typical Units: Non-typical units, such as void and roof units, are now displayed in distinct colours within Site Space. This helps you quickly identify actual unit-bearing areas and effectively assess designs against generated metrics.
  • Automatic Lift Core Placement in Site Space: When designing a building in Site Space, lift core configurations will now automatically adjust and place themselves based on the selected configuration type and spine edits. This significantly speeds up the generation of feasible building designs.
  • Duplicate Scenario Guide Lines: When you duplicate a scenario, any existing guide lines are now also duplicated, allowing you to seamlessly continue refining your designs.
  • Offset Guide Lines: You can now offset guide lines in the 3D canvas, providing greater control over their positioning and enhancing your design parameter definition.
  • Integrated Guide Lines Tool: A new Guide Lines tool has been added to the toolbar in Site Space, consolidating all related functions for easier access and improved workflow.
  • Transformable Guide Lines: Selected guide lines can now be translated and rotated, allowing you to precisely place reference lines according to your design requirements.
  • Point-to-Point Guide Line Creation: You can now create guide lines in Site Space by simply selecting a start and end point, giving you precise control over the line's vector direction.

Industrial Building Features

  • Configurable Private Hydrant System: You can now define whether a private hydrant system is required for your industrial building designs, enabling more accurate building design and cost considerations.
  • Enabled Site Zoning for Industrial Projects: The site zoning feature is now available for industrial projects, providing dedicated tools to manage and optimise site layouts.

Structural Features

  • Enhanced Buildability Score Reporting: For structural designs, a new comprehensive report for Buildability Score now includes detailed breakdowns of modularisation and prefabricated components. This report shows the grouping and counting of beams and columns by profile, providing clear justification for the calculated score.
  • User-Driven Buildability Score Design: You can now define a target percentage of coverage for the three most common sizes of beams and columns. The platform will then size up and standardise profiles to help you achieve a higher buildability score.
  • Dynamic Staircase Wall Sizing: Stairwell dimensions will now dynamically adjust to fit the solved staircase size, ensuring a valid and coordinated building geometry in the wireframe.

Supplier Features

  • Comprehensive Lift Product Management: Supplier users can now download, populate, and import a "Lift" template, allowing for effective analysis and recommendations of their lift products based on user requirements.
  • Enhanced Switchboard Product Management: Supplier users can now download, populate, and import "Switchboard (Incoming)" and "Switchboard (Outgoing)" templates. This enables effective analysis and recommendations of their switchboard products, with full support for product variances, data validation, and product profiling within the catalogue.
  • IFC Export for Switchboards: You can now export your building designs, including solved switchboards, as IFC files with relevant IFC data, facilitating submissions to authorities at various project delivery stages.
  • IFC Export for Switchgear: Similarly, you can now export your building designs, including solved switchgear, as IFC files with relevant IFC data for submissions.

Site Features

  • Editable Generic Building Criteria: Architectural designers can now easily edit the criteria for generic buildings directly on the site, allowing for quick adjustments and customisation to specific project requirements.
  • Landscape Zoning Tools: New tools in Site Space allow you to draw zones and lines to demarcate and reserve spaces specifically for landscaping elements.

Platform Enhancements

  • Refreshable and Shareable Template URLs: Template URLs now update to reflect the currently open template, making it easier to share, bookmark, and reload templates to ensure you're always viewing the latest version.
  • Apartment Unit Count Breakdown in Site Metrics: When a residential tower is selected in Site View, the metrics now include a detailed breakdown of apartment unit counts by type, in addition to percentage breakdowns. This provides a clearer understanding of unit generation based on your unit mix criteria.
  • Default Project Type 'Null': When creating a new project, the project type will now default to 'null' instead of 'Industrial', preventing accidental selection and providing greater control from the start.
  • Space Graph Generation During Solving: The floorplate solver now generates a space graph while it runs, which determines intersections between spaces as new spaces are placed along the spine.
  • Updated Spine Validations: Front-end validations for building spine modifications have been updated to improve the accuracy of segment length, total spine length, and angle between segments.
  • New User Invitation: Organisation administrators can now invite new users to Podium, providing easy access to the platform.

Bug Fixes

This release includes important bug fixes to improve the stability, accuracy, and usability of the Podium platform.

Residential Building Features

  • Stable Residential Building Rotation: Rotating a residential building in Site Space no longer causes it to disappear or revert to a prior un-rotated position, ensuring consistent visual representation.
  • Reliable Solving After Moving Building: Moving a solved building in Site View now retains its solved state instead of reverting to a massing state, allowing for better alignment with the site.
  • Consistent Floor Count Updates: Updating the floor count for a residential building with a podium no longer causes the building to collapse or alter unexpectedly.
  • Correct Site Compliance Solver Behaviour: SiteComplianceSolver errors no longer appear when placing a regular residential model after a beta residential model in Site View.
  • Loading Residential Models in Console: Residential beta models can now be loaded correctly in the Cubs console for debugging and analysis.
  • Units Placing Within Loops: Units now correctly place inside loops, even when a building has multiple loops.
  • Custom Calculations for Residential Beta Buildings: Custom calculations set for Site/Residential projects now correctly appear and function for residential beta buildings.
  • Visible Offset Values in Edit Mode: Offset values are now consistently visible in edit mode for residential building depth.
  • Accurate Metric Display for New Residential Buildings: Total Floor Area and Total Net Lettable Area metrics are now correctly displayed on the Project Overview for scenarios containing new residential beta buildings.
  • Preventing Intersecting Residential Spines: Users are now prevented from drawing residential buildings with intersecting spines, and an appropriate validation error message is displayed.

Industrial Building Features

  • Reliable Industrial Building Solving: Resolved intermittent LfrsSolver errors that occurred in Building View for industrial buildings, ensuring successful solving.
  • Correct Load Transfer for Staircases: Load transfer from staircases to stair landings now behaves as expected for walls surrounding stairs in modular industrial buildings, without self-imposed loads.
