Version 1.2.47 (28 Oct 2026)

New Features

We are excited to share a substantial update to the Podium platform. This release brings a full suite of environmental analyses to the Analyse panel, from solar and sun energy to viewlines, shadow diagrams and elevations, alongside smarter parking and driveway generation, detailed podium structure, and a wide range of usability improvements across the platform.

Residential building features

  • You can now choose how podiums and basements are generated during automatic scenario generation, such as generating an independent podium for each building, giving you more visibility and control over the result.
  • You can now select several parking generation options at once: the first is applied to your current scenario, and a new scenario is created for each additional option so you can compare parking strategies side by side.
  • We have enhanced podium and basement parking generation. Secondary and inner driveways now subdivide the parking area into well-organised zones, parking bays are placed around the structure using new column buffer and offset settings, parking can be generated beneath tower footprints, and all driveways are rendered as continuous surfaces.
  • Gain more flexibility when stacking towers with different floorplates: you can now create a residential tower without a roof.
  • Editing individual floor-to-floor heights for multi-storey podiums now has a cleaner, more legible interface.

Industrial building features

  • Explore two new Data Centre analyses in the Analyse panel. Cooling climate uses a year of local weather data to estimate free-cooling hours and an indicative annual PUE, while Plant noise maps the noise from chillers and generators across your site and checks it against the limits you set.
  • You can now swap a data hall cluster for another compatible template directly within the Building Layout Editor.
  • Detached plant rooms can now be stacked vertically in the Building Layout Editor for low- and medium-density Data Centre templates, giving you more layout flexibility.
  • A new metrics panel gives you key figures at a glance when generating Data Centre layouts automatically.
  • Podium's AI assistant can now do more when creating Data Centres, including adding multiple Data Centres to a site and updating the Engineering Configuration based on your inputs.

Structural features

  • We have introduced detailed structural generation for residential podiums, including slabs, beams, columns, pile caps and piles, with a perimeter ring beam and podium structure that integrates with the residential towers above.
  • You can now switch early-stage structure generation on or off for residential buildings in Site View, giving you control over solve times, as already available for industrial buildings.
  • Podium now generates a preliminary structural design for external steel gantries on Data Centres.
  • Early-stage embodied carbon estimates are now available for substructure elements such as foundations, supporting your sustainability reporting from the earliest design stages.

Site features

  • Introducing Solar analysis: see hours of direct sun on every surface of your design for a chosen date and time window, and check sunlight to dwellings and outdoor areas against regional standards such as NSW ADG, UK BRE 209 and China GB 50180.
  • The new Sun energy analysis shows a year of solar energy on every outside surface of your design, estimates rooftop solar generation, and includes an optional Singapore envelope (RETV) check, with results exportable to CSV.
  • Run line-of-sight studies with the new Viewline analysis: place an observer and targets, and instantly see which sightlines are clear or obstructed.
  • Generate planning shadow diagrams as a one-page PDF, showing the shadows cast with and without your design at key times on the winter solstice.
  • Analyses now stay live while you work: keep editing your model with an analysis on screen, and it re-runs automatically to reflect your changes.
  • You can now produce site elevations from your scenario model and download them as an A3 or A1 PDF drawing set.
  • Speed up your design work with group cloning, which lets you clone multiple elements at once while keeping their relative spacing.
  • Click on surrounding buildings to see more contextual information, and use the new colour-coded building-type view in the GIS layers.
  • Open the images you saved with your views in a split-screen panel alongside your live model, making it easy to compare site conditions with your design.
  • You can now align the view to a line you draw and lock the view rotation, which is remembered per project, and place new products square to the view or matching a selected element.
  • In the 2D markup view, you can now edit object names and labels directly and turn on GIS layers.
  • Markup is now available in the Floorplate Editor and Building Layout Editor, and your markups can be saved as images to the gallery for stakeholder presentations.
  • Automated reports now show the data layer legend when data layers are turned on, and the report title defaults to your project name.
  • A Google Maps satellite view is now available as a basemap.
  • You can now continue working on your scenario while 3D context building data is still loading.
  • Splitting a site into parcels is simpler: use a toggle to mark each parcel as a build zone or no-build zone, instead of setting a height limit.
  • After setting up a site, you can now edit the project boundary and remove the boundary limit altogether.
  • You can now scale and move a placed object at the same time, making it easier to get it to the right size and position.
  • New sheets on the site layer now display a helpful message while they are still empty.

Platform features

  • Navigate faster: key links now open in a new tab with Cmd/Ctrl-click or right-click, browser tabs show your project and scenario names, and new breadcrumb menus let you switch between projects and scenarios from the top bar.
  • Your portfolio now includes a "Continue where you left off" row and quick actions to start a new project, create one from a brief, or explore sample projects.
  • Scenario comparison is more flexible: compare a single scenario against your targets, compare as few as one metric, keep your comparison settings per project, and export a one-page summary PDF with scenario thumbnails.
  • The viewers have been refined, with the scale bar shown by default, mouse navigation presets in Preferences, zoom-to-pointer in Building View, and a single Analyse entry in Site View.
  • We have made many smaller usability refinements, including Undo and Redo always available in the template editor, clearer sort options and empty states, and dismissible notices in the project overview.
  • Type calculations directly into any dimension field, in metric or imperial units, and Podium will work out the value for you.
  • Quickly find the setting you need with a new search box in the criteria panel.
  • Podium's AI assistant can now read an uploaded brief (PDF or URL), extract your targets and configurations, and let you decide which to apply to your project.
  • When creating renders with Podium's AI assistant, you can now choose either the current scene or a saved gallery image as the starting point.
  • Conversations with Podium's AI assistant are clearer, with results shown in a readable format and restored sessions matching your original chat.
  • Area calculations now classify walls as external or internal, supporting area calculations under different regulatory standards.
  • Data queries are more powerful: you can now filter results, find elements with or without specific attributes, limit the number of results returned, and query across multiple models.
  • In the query builder, the Reset button is now labelled Clear.
